Systems Integration and Test Technician
to serve on a team of IT support professionals in
Northern Virginia
.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot, install, and configuring Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
Provides technical expertise in the management of a public and/or private network; tests and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers
Installs, supports and/or maintains LANs and/or WANs; evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades
Performs technical analyses of software, hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations
Monitors data traffic and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission
Identifies, diagnoses and resolves technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of PC hardware and software
Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
Hours of coverage:
Individual shift may vary, but you will be a member of a team that provides coverage from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Microsoft Certified Professional Program, Cisco Network certification, or any other approved information technology certification.
Able to work multiple projects with limited supervision, and ability to diagnose and resolve network issues in a busy environment.
Ability to manage, prioritize and execute multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to provide solutions and work with customer in providing resolution.
Must be a self-starter and work with a clear and defined mission.
Proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors across the customer base.
BA/BS and four (4) years of experience, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to 6 years.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices.
Must be able to position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts.
