A growing newspaper group in Havana, Florida is seeking a talented and experienced Editor to oversee the content of several weekly newspapers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalism, a strong understanding of local news, and excellent writing and editing skills.
Responsibilities:
Assign, write, edit, and proofread news articles, features, and columnsManage editorial calendars and deadlinesOversee the production of newspapers from start to finishCollaborate with reporters, photographers, and designersBuild and maintain relationships with community members and local businesses
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, preferably in a newsroom settingStrong knowledge of AP style and grammarExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFamiliarity with newspaper production software (e.g., In Design, Photoshop) is a plus
