Responsibilities: Under general supervision, installs, maintains, tests and repairs inter-building and intra-building communication cables (primarily twisted pair copper and optical fiber); trouble-shoots voice and data service problems related to cable plant or telephone set using Fluke certification testers, OTDR, Digital Multimeter, and various other test equipment; updates cable plant and data communications software/database as changes are made; works with network engineers to modify electronics configuration to activate voice or data connection; installs, maintains, modifies, repairs and monitors the operational performance of electronic switching hardware; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Graduation from a two-year resident electronic school and three years of experience in electronic communications transmission and termination that may include some form of vendor training/certification; or any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and experience can be gained. BICSI ICT Cabling Installation Certification preferred.
