Job Description:
The Piping Support Engineer is responsible for the design and placement of supports for various piping systems, performing calculations necessary to ensure stability and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a solid understanding of pipe support hardware and familiarity with relevant codes such as AISC and ASME B31.3. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to ensure designs are both cost-effective and of high quality. Coordination with other engineering disciplines and vendors is also required.
Essential Duties:
Design and locate supports for piping systems.Perform structural calculations to ensure designs meet compliance standards.Collaborate with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to refine designs.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
US Citizenship.Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes, including AISC and ASME B31.3.Experience in a 3D model environment.Proficiency in using structural analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications:
PE Registration.Experience with pipe support analysis programs such as GTStrudel.Familiarity with Pipe Support Modeler software.Prior experience on defense or energy sector projects is highly advantageous.
