Position Overview:
As part of the talented Operations team, you will be responsible for meeting, maintain, and understanding Key Performance Indicator (KPIs), specifically as they relate to people, safety quality, delivery, and coset. Production Manager drives process improvement strategies to meet these expectations, using Lean Manufacturing principles. Production Managers are accountable for the results of a medium-sized operation department and typically manager4-6 production supervisors.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Typically spends 50% of time on administrative, project, and strategic tasks / 50% of time directly/on floor developing team, building employee engagement, etc.
Oversees a department and/or function with responsibility for up to 200 front line employees and 6 supervisors.
Responsible for meeting, maintaining, and understanding Key Performance Indicators, specifically as they relate to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Drives process improvement strategies to meet these expectations, using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Leads and develops direct reports in alignment with the Brunswick Employee Value Proposition.
Holds accountability for team members based on the Brunswick Integrity Playbook, Brunswick and Boston Whaler policies, and Brunswick and Boston Whaler SOPs.
Evaluates performance and builds succession planning for all direct reports, including supervisors and group leaders.
Maintains responsibility of production of the highest quality, meeting engineering standards.
Uses the Tiered Gemba approach to drive communication at all levels of the business as it relates to KPIs
Typically leads special projects, within assigned department, specifically continuous improvement, which can lead cross functional/departmental projects.
Able to work on complex issues that require exercising judgment and interpretation of relevant factors to resolve problem.
Able to make interpretive decisions by studying the work structure and methods, examining alternative calculating benefit, and recommending improvement.
Must be able to build collaborative relationships and have strong emotional intelligence.

Shop floor working environment.
Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.
Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals.
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Fridays 7:00 AM- 11:00 AM

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in a leadership role
Understanding of basic Lean Manufacturing principles required. Greenbelt preferred.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven record of mentoring and developing direct reports
Must exhibit full proficiency in leadership skills, including but not limited to; emotional intelligence, coaching, accountability, decision making, problem solving, organization, conflict resolution
Intermediate understanding of Environmental Health & Safety Principles
Must have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, be able to work from verbal and written instructions, be capable of working with computer terminals and be able to complete routine paperwork.
Ability to remain extremely focused and organized with a high attention to detail / high degree of accuracy.
Able to work with multiple priorities and people.
This role will require a high level of energy, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in MS office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Leads team by example and foster positive and open communication with team members
