Commercial Relationship Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Relationship Manager with a community-focused bank located in Cooperstown, NY. This role is ideal for a business banker looking to step into commercial lending position, or a seasoned commercial banking professional with experience in sales, credit analysis, and/or portfolio management. Our client has a strong understanding of the market and is looking for someone who can effectively manage, service, and grow an existing portfolio while actively pursuing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage and grow a portfolio of commercial loans, focusing on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and/or Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lending.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with businesses in the market.
  • Provide input into the credit process and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with a local team to support new business development efforts.
  • Uphold the bank's values and commitment to ethical and responsible customer service.
Requirements:
  • 4-5+ years of experience in business development, portfolio management, credit analysis, or a combination of these areas.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit and lending principles.
  • Proven track record of building successful relationships in the market.
  • An existing network of Centers of Influence (COIs) to drive business development is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and grow an existing loan portfolio effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and compliance with bank policies and regulations.
