Job Purpose
The LNG/CNG Project Engineering group is looking for a Designer to support the engineering team in the development and execution of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) projects. The Designer plays a crucial role in translating engineering designs and concepts into detailed technical drawings and documentation. The Designer will be assisting the team on designing new facilities as well as modifying existing equipment and systems.
Key Accountabilities
Create and update technical drawings using AutoCAD software to accurately depict LNG/CNG facilities, equipment, and systems.Develop a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) in collaboration with the engineering team, listing all necessary materials, components, and equipment for the project.Revise and modify drawings based on feedback received from the engineering team, ensuring that all changes are accurately reflected.Maintain project documentation, including drawings and the BOM, ensuring that they are organized, up to date, and upload to National Grid's document management system OpenText.Coordinate with stakeholders such as architects, contractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for the drawings and BOM.Work with the engineering team to track and record all materials purchased based on the Bill of Materials, including supplier information, purchase dates, quantities, and costs.Perform quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards, while also adhering to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD software and drafting tools.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and codes for LNG/CNG projects.Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in the industry.Good communication and collaboration skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
