EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent One month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATION:
Forklift and Lifting Certification
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
:
Responsible for pulling, organizing, identifying and delivery of products from the School Nutrition Services warehouse to the schools in the District.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivers requested goods to schools.Drives bobtail truck with standard shift transmission and uses lift gate.Identification of food products on requisition form.Fills frozen and grocery orders requested by schools.Maintains inventory practices through correct identification, pulling, loading and delivery of food and nonfood products.Responds to calls to unload and/or move goods from school storage facilities in emergency situations.Transfers food to satellite operations.Unloads and stores items received into the warehouse.Communicates with managers, central office personnel, vendors and drivers on warehouse items, their condition and availability.Correctly identifies products received, pulled and distributed using product name, code, manufacturer and/or pack.Conducts inventory of items on a regular basis.Maintains sanitation standards of food warehouse operation.Maintains confidentiality of information.Regularly required to drive District vehicles in the performance of assigned tasks.Reports to work on time every day.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
*QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination to include alcohol and drug testing Moderate proficiency in the use of a computer and knowledge and ability to use and/or learn to use Internet and Maintenance Software Average ability in the use of Winsnap School Nutrition Software Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Obtain within six months of employment a Valid Texas Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the Texas Department of Public Safety and the District
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to drive District vehicles in the performance of assigned tasks. The individual must pass a pre-employment physical examination to include drug testing.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT: * The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electri al shock, and vibration. The employee may be required to work outside the normal duty hours and/or on weekends or holidays in order to handle emergencies that may occur. The employee on call is required to carry a District provided pager and to respond to emergency service calls on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
