The Admissions Officer position within the Smeal College of Business involves developing and managing recruitment strategies that align with the college and university strategic goals, while also organizing campus/college events and outreach activities to encourage high school students to apply and connect with admitted students.
The role includes:
Prepares and analyzes reports on admissions activities, experience with data analytics a plusCommunicates daily with prospective students/families and stakeholders through various channels, including phone, email and in-personManages content updates on the website/print materials in collaboration with the marketing teamCoordinates Accepted Student Events and other recruitment events, which will be increasing in number and capacity in upcoming yearsFoster relationships with service area school counselors and advise them on Penn State policies, processes, and proceduresProvides support during events, including coordinating building tours, escorting students/families to the building, ensuring tables are staffed appropriatelyCommunicating with various entities across the university, including extensive communication with internal units such as academic departments, marketing and strategic communications, Penn State Admissions, and moreServes as a contact for inquiries related to any new admissions processes, representing the college at admissions conferences and other eventsAdvise, counsel, and provide information to prospective and current students on University programs and processes, as well as eligibility requirements for admissionPerform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Enrollment and Director of Recruitment and Enrollment
Previous experience with a CRM (customer relationship management) system, specifically Slate is desirable.
A successful candidate must have strong communication and presentation skills , and a willingness to potentially travel locally and out of state on behalf of the campus and University. The candidate should expect to work a small amount of nights/weekends.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree, or higher and three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$51,000.00 - $74,000.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
