United Plastic Fabricating is the industry leader in the manufacture of plastic water tanks for the fire industry. In addition, we design and manufacture a variety of products for the industrial and transportation markets.

Manage the technology teams responsible for providing technical and strategic direction with regards to product development, process improvements, information technology, automation, projects and complex problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

EngineeringDirect department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.Maintains deep understanding of all relevant standards (DVS, AWS) and engages with relevant associations and organizations (NFPA, FAMA, ABYC).Supports the organization in diagnosing and resolving both internal and external (i.e. warranty) quality issuesDirect process improvement team including machine maintenance, new technology Implementation, and operational excellence. The team focus is to increase manufacturing capacity, improve efficiency, reduce production costs, reduce process and compliance risks, and maintain the validated state of equipment, systems, facilities and utilities.Information Technology

Direct Information Technology team managing all IT technologies and technical IT infrastructures.Direct Automation team that develops, maintains, improves and implements code for the company product design applications.Management

Develop, acquire and preserve a high performing team. Manage and develop the team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, projects and trainingServe as the technical leader on product and project initiatives to help ensure continuous improvementAnalyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.Requirements

B.S. Engineering degree (mechanical, industrial). Masters Degree Preferred8 to 10 years of experience managing a quality teamStrong LEAN experience.Strong analytical skillsEffective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills.Effective ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
