TitleApplications Trainer
An Applications Trainer develops and trains Epic curriculum, Bronson's electronic health record (EHR), to new hires. Additional responsibilities include maintaining lesson plan and learning materials, supporting system upgrade testing, developing computer-based learnings (CBLs) in Articulate, assisting with New Hire Orientation, and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Main requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Epic Credentialed Trainer designation required or to be completed in first six months.
Epic Proficiency or Certification required or to be completed in the first year.
Working knowledge of healthcare operations in inpatient and/or ambulatory setting preferred.
Experience with Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Articulate preferred.
Must be able to present effectively to small and large groups both in person and online learning environments.
Ability to create lesson plans, education materials, computer-based learning, and assessments, designed with a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
General familiarity of end user clinical or business practices, concepts, terminology sufficient to support the applications in a healthcare delivery environment.
Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to work with end users to determine software specifications, hardware requirements, and process improvement workflows.
Additional:
Conducts end user training in accordance with Bronson goals and Epic objectives.
Communicates effectively with nursing staff, physicians, other disciplines and business office staff.
Works with all departments involved with the EHR project (including, but not limited to: patient accounting, registration, clinical, medical, health information, order entry) and other customers to develop and provide education needed to enhance abilities.
Develops and maintains collegial relationships with all Center for Learning, HR, and IT staff as relates to systems in area of responsibility.
Keeps abreast of developments in the information systems and communications field and evaluates developments for applicability or incorporation into existing applications.
Evaluates opportunities to improve processes through the use of technology. Examples - assisting with testing of Epic or Workday systems; creating content for on-demand use.
Provide proactive user support of the clinical and/or business information systems.
Participate in analysis and research related to clinical/business information systems.
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving instructional materials. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clean, well lighted & temperature controlled environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands to perform fine motor skills.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
