Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Excess Construction team at Twin Maples Specialty, located in Alpharetta, GA. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of excess construction accounts, ensuring profitability and growth in line with company objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of construction risks, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, underwrite, and manage a portfolio of excess construction accounts, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and standards.Analyze construction risks, assess exposure, and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and retention.Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, risk control, and actuarial, to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management.Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.Minimum of 7-10 years of underwriting experience in the construction insurance industry.Strong knowledge of construction risks, underwriting principles, and insurance products.Proven track record of successfully managing a portfolio of complex construction accounts.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues.Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are preferred.
