General Description:

The IT Portfolio Manager will work with a multitude of H&K departments to manage and deliver their strategic initiatives in alignment with the firm's goals and objectives. The person fulfilling this role will work with leadership to develop their annual roadmap, manage critical projects, and serve as a point of contact for any questions related to project management of assigned portfolio. This role requires the ability to form strong working relationships with project resources, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve interdepartmental challenges, and communicate effectively with firm leadership. The incumbent must exhibit exemplary project management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential. A successful incumbent must be able to address complex issues and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to find practical and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

Excels at the following Project Management skills:

Facilitate the creation of project requirements, business cases, and executive summaries.Define and review project scope and successfully plan and track execution.Identify and secure resources required to execute the plan.Create and maintain project plans to accomplish stated goals.Identify, log, analyze and manage project issues and risks.Proactively address deviations from project plans or schedules and keep all participants on track.Facilitate project meetings, including the creation of agendas, preparation of materials, and documentation of meeting minutes and results.Provide status reports on project progress for project stakeholders and IT Leadership.Vendor solicitation and selection management including Request for Proposal (RFP) package creation.Effectively use the tools required for managing projects.Work closely with all project stakeholder groups to coordinate project milestones.Understand and translate cross-team dependencies into actionable plans.Work with multiple stakeholders in the Business and IT to meet the desired objectives.Determine most appropriate PMO methodology for assigned projects.

Demonstrate a strong understanding and ability to successfully perform the following Senior Project Manager skillsets:

Mentors new or junior level Project Managers on all things project management.Lead efforts outside of normal project management duties to help streamline or automate current processes.Sets the standard for how the team manages projects.Exhibits on a continual basis the ability to effectively deliver on projects of various complexities.Has an excellent understanding of the various teams within IT and within assigned project area.Travel to local offices to facilitate meetings and verify project progress as necessary.

Assumes responsibility for the project management for a designated group(s) or organization(s)Portfolio management responsibilities to include:

Assists in the collection and documentation of the yearly IT projects wish list.Helps to track down high level requirements and costs for wish list projects.Keeps up to date with all designated portfolio projects/initiatives (with or without a PM).Updates information in ServiceNow to keep portfolio information as up to date as possible (i.e. start/end dates, assigned resources and percent complete).Understand the Firm's capabilities, assets, skills, and resource capacity.Help balance conflicting portfolio priorities and take corrective actions to remove project roadblocks.Prepare financial and what-if analysis to help senior management rank and prioritize projects.Apply portfolio management best practices to establish benchmark data to use for continuous process improvements.Work with portfolio owners to continuously review and optimize their portfolio to ensure on-going alignment with evolving organizational goals, market opportunities, and threats.Is seen by peers and leadership as the owner of projects within assigned portfolio.

Serves as Project Manager on many concurrent project or programs of various size and complexitySpecial project and duties as assignedRequired Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to organize, lead, facilitate, and manage status and other meetings as needed.Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project.Ability to interact with technical, managerial, and executive level staff.Required Qualifications & Education:

Bachelor's Degree.Formal project management training and certification (PMP).Agile Methodology experience is desired.7+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager.Experience to manage multiple priorities and tasks.Involvement working within technical teams through all phases of the project lifecycle.Some travel may be required.Preferred Qualifications & Education:

Law Firm experience preferredPhysical Requirements:
