Position Summary

This is a full-time position, 8 hours per day, 12 months of the year.

The purpose of this position is to support user access to the district's telecommunications and video surveillance and monitoring platforms and associated systems by managing ticketing queues, email, phone calls, and direct communication relating to requests for service, support, and operation of the telecommunication and video monitoring platform systems. Additionally, this position will provide overall technical support and training to school and central office users of these major computer applications.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate district wide telecommunications projects related to staffing or programs changes.Work with building staff and departments to maintain accurate equipment assignments.Consult and provide training for users and/or departmental staff concerning the telecommunications platform, including phoneconfiguration, phone number assignments, button configurations on phones, voicemail, caller-id, ring groups, automated attendants, call processors, and other technical aspects of managing a large telephone system.Respond to inquiries, complaints, problems or emergencies affecting the availability or quality of services.Document work in ticketing system and completion of work orders.Provide liaison between Technology Services staff and technology users.Participate in system planning, design, project management, and project deliveryRespond to help desk requests meeting or exceeding the established department/district service level agreements.Provide classroom training and one-on-one assistance to district staff in procedures of telecommunication and video and surveillance system operation.Monitor hardware and software system performance. Determine course of action necessary to maintain optimal system performance.Identify and correct or refer network-related hardware and software problems on client computers.Assist technology staff in identifying reporting needs and related system requirements.Communicate new operational procedures to computer system users.Provide training and support for specific computer services.Provide telephone support to technology users in operation of hardware and software systems.Maintains regular and prompt attendance.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires knowledge of video surveillance systems and telecommunications industry and familiarity with general types of telephone systems, including functions, components and practices.Requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to provide tactful information in situations where there are competing demands.Ability to manage time effectively and work with accuracy and attention to detail in order to meet deadlines.Ability to learn practical work methods, features and programming of the district telephone system, voice mail system, video surveillance system, inventory and help desk ticketing system.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate, schedule and evaluate requests for phones, equipment and problem-solving situations.Demonstrated ability to solve complex technology problems.Ability to conduct building site training and problem-solving for system users.Demonstrated ability in highly sophisticated oral and written communication skills.Ability to create and present course material in a classroom setting.Ability to perform at a highly independent level as well as on a team.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of post-secondary course work related to telecommunications and or video surveillance programing.Graduation from a two-year technology program or equivalent work experience.Two to Five years' experience in technology focused customer service.Bilingual/bicultural applicants preferred
