Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retro peritoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity.Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner.Prepares patient for exam and provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure.Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports unusual occurrences and patient's condition.Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling and optimal use of equipment/resources.Communicates with all physicians, imaging personnel, students and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.Performs technologist duties of other registered modality as assigned by management.Provides on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.Inputs charges and required data for procedures and for supplies used during the exam.Completes required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed.Prepares room, equipment, and exam materials needed for exam.Maintains clean work area for employees and patients.Maintains quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.Proactive in problem identification and communicates with appropriate management personnel.Maintains high skill level through ongoing education and shares information with staff.Participates in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.Engages in professional activities to maintain skills.Represents the organization through volunteer activities which enhance the image of the profession and the organization.Participates in department/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.Maintains compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation and hospital regulations and standards.Responsible for contributing to ACR accreditation as requested.Demonstrates effective time management and is proactive in prioritizing workload and meeting productivity requirements.Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census and staffing.Job Requirements
One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred.Schedule Information
