POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Business Systems Engineering Bureau. This is a full-time position responsible for performing administrative and technical work in developing and maintaining comprehensive management information systems. This position directs the work of project teams in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties may include:
Planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of the section;
Consulting with section supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative, and operational issues and problems;
Assessing/analyzing and making recommendations to resolve issues and problems within the bureau;
Participating in project coordination and management of assigned systems;
Acting as liaison with internal and external customers regarding FDLE data and systems;
Conducting studies and consulting with customers and local law enforcement agencies to determine requirements for implementation of related information systems;
Ensuring all projects have documented scopes, requirements, and other initiation and planning documents as needed;
Assisting in the review of project staff’s computer software analysis and design, documentation, code, and defects;
Reviewing and providing input for procurement documents as necessary, including statements of work, contracts, contract changes and amendments, working with hardware/software vendor staff as required, and other documents necessary for the initiation of IT projects; and
Performing bill analysis as needed to evaluate the impact of proposed legislation on information systems, the section and the bureau.
To be considered a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least eight years of experience in data processing*; and
At least four years of experience in computer programming.
SPECIAL NOTE: *Data entry, intern (and university) work are excluded in data processing experience. Preference may be given to applicants with t wo or more years of experience as a project lead, technical lead, or supervisory role focused on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and management of enterprise software solutions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis;
Knowledge of basic management and project management principles and practices;
Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
Ability to lead, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
Ability to design programs and systems logic;
Ability to address important questions at the beginning of the project;
Ability to communicate roles, expectations, and objectives to the team; and
Ability to monitor progress and identify roadblocks.
BASE SALARY:
$77,250.00
