Join Our Team as a Grossing/Histology Specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Location: Dermpath Outreach Lab Schedule: Full-Time Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Grossing/Histology Specialist to join our dedicated Dermpath Outreach Lab team. In this critical role, you will perform technical functions such as grossing complex and non-complex surgical specimens, histological slide preparation, and supporting diagnostic processes. Key Responsibilities- Histology Preparation: Perform tasks including embedding, microtomy, staining, and preparing slides for direct immunofluorescence studies.- Grossing: Handlea variety of specimens, including complex excisions and MOHS procedures, ensuring accurate measurements and orientations.- Compliance & Quality: Maintain adherence to laboratory safety, CLIA, and CAP standards, and resolve issues impacting test performance.- Collaboration: Partner with pathologists and assist with proofreading gross descriptions to ensure accuracy.- Equipment Operation: Operate H&E stainer, cryostat, IHC, and special stains equipment to support lab processes.Skills & Competencies- Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.- Effective communication and ability to manage workload efficiently.- Experience with CoPath preferred.- A team player who thrives in collaborative environments.
