WHAT YOU'LL DO

Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role ensures that Cracker Barrel’s IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, providing technical support and managing system performance to meet business needs.

System Installation and Configuration:

Install and configure software, hardware, and networks with moderate supervision

Set up accounts and workstations for new users with moderate supervision

Maintenance and Monitoring:

Perform regular system maintenance, including updates and patches with moderate supervision

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation2.

User Support and Troubleshooting

Provide technical support to end-users.

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues with moderate supervision

Security Management:

Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems with moderate supervision

Monitor security protocols and respond to security breaches with moderate supervision

Backup and Recovery:

Implement backup and recovery strategies with moderate supervision

User Support and Training:

Provide technical support and training to end users with moderate supervision

Address user issues and queries promptly and effectively with moderate supervision

System Configuration and Deployment

Install and configure new hardware and software with moderate supervision

Manage system upgrades and migrations with moderate supervision

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities

Compliance and Policy Enforcement

Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Enforce IT policies and procedures with moderate supervision

Capacity Planning and Resource Management

Monitor resource usage and alert senior staff to take action.

Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with other IT team members and departments.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their needs.

Virtualization Management:

Oversee virtualized environments and manage virtual machines with moderate supervision

Disaster Recovery Planning:

Participate in disaster recovery testing activities to ensure business continuity.

Vendor Management:

Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement and support.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

2-4 years proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role

Strong knowledge of various operating systems and platforms

Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.

Manual dexterity to handle small components and tools.
