SUMMARY Responsible for assisting with company-wide safety program – the development, and administration of all safety policies and procedures. The Safety Manager will establish reliable methods for improving safety performance and creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, fostering a culture of safety, accountability , and compliance .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Promote safety integrity throughout the entire company
Monitor safety compliance
Plans, implements and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs
High level of communication with job site managers, and local, federal, and state agencies such as MSHA, OSHA, and DOT
Capable of preparing, tailoring, and presenting training topics to large groups to the level and experience of the audience
Administer, monitor, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of accident reports and investigations
Collect, analyze, and maintain safety statistics and injury and illness records
Facilitate MSHA, OSHA, and DOT safety training
Conduct job site inspections
Train new and existing Safety Superintendents
Write Toolbox Talks
Can interpret and adopt new Federal/ State regulations
Accident and incident investigations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in safety management preferred but not required
10-12 years of experience in construction safety
Overnight travel and flexibility to travel with little to no notice is required
Position is based out of our Goshen corporate office
Experience in OSHA Construction (1926 & 1910) compliance preferred
Knowledge in MSHA & DOT rules and regulations
Exceptional organizational skills
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Self-motivated; ability to work independently
Good written and verbal communication skills
