Description

Directs production and distribution operations for a plant or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinates production, distribution, maintenance, housekeeping, and warehousing in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Heartland Co-op, Location Manager, and Regional Manager.Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.Develops plans and oversees operation for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance the profitable operation of the location.Assists with the preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay, and expenses) for the location.Recommends budgets to location manager.Must maintain a valid driver's license and commercial insurability at all times.Other duties may be assigned.Requirements

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.

Certificates and Licenses:

A weighing license and grain grading certification may be required. Must maintain a valid driver's license and insurability at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
