Your Role
The CalPERS Account Management team provides strategic oversight, consultative support, and superior service to CalPERS and the employer groups (State of California, Public Agencies, School Districts and Charter Schools) participating in their health benefits program. The Account Manager, Experienced will report to the Manager, CalPERS Account Management. In this role you will be responsible for the sales, retention, and support of programs to CalPERS employer groups, staff, Health Benefit Officers (HBO) and members. You will also assist in the planning, development and implementation of client strategies associated with open enrollment and Health Benefit Officer engagement, as well as year-round engagement and events to promote the CalPERS line of business. This position will be encompass Northern Los Angeles County, San Louis Obispo County, and Bakersfield County. Will also support other territories.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:Use general knowledge of BSCA products: TRIO, Tandem PPO, ASO, Specialty and have some knowledge on how they compare to competitive offerings to support accountsUse general understanding of BSCA and BSCA product value propositions based on client buyer type to support accountsUse general understanding of upcoming developments in the healthcare market (healthcare reform, state and local healthcare legislation, new entrants, customer need shifts)Clearly articulate thoughts and present BSCA prepared presentation decksUse general understanding of the renewal process and can reach out to underwriting for quotes and pricing inquiriesRepresent the organization at trainings, client events including wellness meetings, open enrollment fairs, new agency meetings, and educational eventTake the lead in the field scheduling of multiple Open Enrollment events in assigned territoryAssist in the training of internal and temporary volunteers for Open Enrollment purposesPartner with the CalPERS team and marketing to develop collateral to promote scheduled eventsLead the implementation of client specific programs and pilotsQualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a bachelors degree or equivalent experienceRequires moderate to thorough experience in sales or marketingRequires at least 3 years of prior relevant experienceRequires at least 2 years of Health Plan or Broker sales experienceRequires an active Life Agent License with California Department of InsuranceDesired: CalPERS experience or other large, multi-site and government accounts with different types of funding arrangements, including but not limited to HMO, PPO, ASO, contract and underwriting/rating knowledgePay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $71,060.00 to $106,700.00 for California.
