Description
Our company is seeking an Accessibility Transcription Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transcribing documents into various accessible formats, including Large Print, Audio, eText, and Braille, using specialized software. On-the-job training will be provided for format specifications and software usage. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and can work effectively in a team environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTranscribe documents into accessible formats such as Large Print, Audio, eText, and Braille using designated software.Ensure that all transcriptions meet client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality requirements.Manage timelines effectively to meet project deadlines.Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in transcriptions.Receive on-the-job training for format specifications and software usage.Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transcriptions.Adapt to evolving accessibility standards and technologies.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS
Proficient in using accessibility software and tools (training will be provided).Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.Ability to manage timelines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.Self-directed and able to work independently on assigned tasks.Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to maintain focus on quality.Excellent computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION & BENEFITS
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience in an area requiring attention to detail.Experience using Microsoft Office products.Previous experience with desktop publishing is a plus.Previous experience with accessible documents is a plus.EDUCATION
