Primary Function: The Supervisor is the primary person responsible for achieving all departmental goals including rejection percentage, inventory freshness, timely allocations, minimize dumps/donates, and increase percentage from inventory. The Supervisor is the commodity department's main contact with both the commodity planners and operations management. Other duties may be assigned.Achieve departmental Goals for including rejection percentage, inventory freshness, timely allocations, minimize dumps/donates, and increase percentageWork with the Operations team to communicate daily Production and Sales Order allocationsInsure all sales orders are allocated through inventory or production so that customer service objectives are achievedMaintain, in conjunction with planner, an inventory plan for the 0-3-day horizon that includes tracking of inbounds, production plans and forecasted salesRoutinely check product quality in inventory and at receivingCoordinate and assist in communicating customers' expectations with the commodity team, Production, and ShippingMaintain regular communication with the Commodity Planners, Production Schedulers, Commodity Inventory Controllers, and Production ManagersMaintain regular communication with Receiving and Logistics, with specific emphasis on load priorities and product specificationsMake suggestions to Sales for the disposal/movement of surplus commodities in a timely fashionVerify GMP and Organic compliance is maintained in assigned area of responsibilityCommunicate missed quality issues with procurement and quality to get NCs in placeLiaise between sales and commodity operations to insure customer expectations are satisfiedCoordinate all sample requests for all commoditiesCoordinate DNS/Blowout/Dump product lists daily for all commoditiesTraining new hires for the Commodity Inventory Controller positionsBe involved in the interview process for the Commodity Inventory Controller positionEducation/Background Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferredPrevious experience in produce industry preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferredSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredWillingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of jobComfortable making decisionsMust have strong communication skillsDetail orientedWill need to learn significant Product / Industry knowledgeMust be high-performance team player and be willing to work in a dynamic, growing, demanding and fast-paced environmentStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsNeed to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately handle out-of-the-ordinary issues with a sense of urgencyMust have ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple projects with strong personal time-management skills and effectively manage associated stressProficient in basic computer-use skills (i.e. Word, Excel) and will need to learn NAV, JDAMust be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hoursWorking Conditions:Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50°FBackground noise (from refrigeration) approaches 70 dcbsPosition requires sitting, standing, walking and bending on a regular basis.Limited kneeling, squatting and crawling requiredMust be capable of lifting up to 30 lbsMust have manual dexterity to perform computer skills
