Seeking an outgoing Materials Supervisor who thrives in a fast paced production environment to work onsite in our Anchorage, AK facility.
You will be responsible for the inventory and ordering of all food and beverages. This includes managing up to $5M in annual spend for perishable food and materials for products that change monthly.
LSG
does not have a perpetual inventory system, therefore monthly hand counts are required. You must be able to be in attendance for the last 4 days of every month, regardless of what days this falls on.
The standard shift will be either Monday – Friday or Sunday – Thursday starting between 6am – 8am.
Daily activities break down as follows:
50% on the floor auditing processes and supporting the day-to-day operations to successfully run shift10% solving supply chain challenges10% creating buyer guides10% employee interaction10% administrative/scheduling and emails10% trainingMain Accountabilities
Oversee all aspects of inventory management, from forecasting through internal delivery, to ensure financial and customer requirements are met.
Supervise up to 6 union workers and 3 nonunion workersControl food cost and continually compare actual to billed costsDetermine par levels and order quantities based on airline specifications, menus and vendor lead time and ensure the team maintains proper inventory levelsManage personnel who purchase, receive, put away and deliver internal stockCoordinate month end inventory and reporting processes.
Review results and create action plans for variancesEnsure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directedGuide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the HumanResources PolicyParticipate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standards (GQS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Lean Manufacturing, Employee SafetyKnowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience requiredOne to three years’ experience in materials management, purchasing, inventory and/or warehouse management strongly preferredOne to three years’ supervisory experience strongly preferredBasic knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain managementProven success in improving work processes, leading change and role models positive behaviors as well as change agent skills in a complex and fast paced environmentEstablished ability to identify the vision and produces goals with realistic plans to achieve themAbility to interact with employees, customers and vendors at all levelsProficient in computer skills including Microsoft Excel and SAP MM a plusExcellent analytical, conceptual, interpersonal and communication skillsLSG Sky Chefs
