This person will be supporting the Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, and Orange City, FL offices and will be responsible for supporting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities will be varied, and candidates must be multitalented, flexible problem solvers who are eager to tackle complex problems and tasks. Ideal candidates will also have podiatry or orthopedic experience as well as x-ray experience.Responsibilities of the Medical AssistantMedical Assistant:Place patients in exam rooms, ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with the physicianComplete exam intake, including but not limited to, reviewing the patient's medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of present illnessEnsure accurate charting for the physicianProvide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including, but not limited to obtaining vitals, minor in-office procedures, bandaging, DME fitting, taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam roomPerform daily administrative tasks such as stocking all exam rooms and disposing of exam room trashResponsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of the each daySterilize instruments dailySatisfy and document appropriately required MIPS quality measures Patient Care Coordinator:Greet and check-in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical records/database, perform all registration functions and collect copays and balances due as appropriateSchedule patients via office scheduling policies and confirm appointment times as well as educate patients on the impactful services of UpperlineAnswer and screen in-bound calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information to patients as well as handling outgoing phone calls as appropriate (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)Assist with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requestedAccurately and concisely document patient feedback and special needs our clinicians to provide excellent care during each appointmentExplain and communicate Upperline's services in an informational, influential, concise, uplifting, and personable manner with outstanding etiquetteManage daily on-time appointment schedules and effectively communicate this with physiciansMaintain office supply inventory, including checking, ordering and stocking suppliesSupport practices' coordinated care approach when appropriateContribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requested Qualifications for the Medical Assistant / Patient Care CoordinatorPrevious Medical Assistant experiencePodiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferredX-ray experience is a plusPrevious experience working in an EMR - preferably AthenaExcellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminologyMust be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skillsExceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate and professional demeanor with each interactionDemonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work historyReliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check and drug test is required Compensation Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
