Details Client NameTidalHealth Peninsula Regional - FE Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyMS Job ID29515451 Job TitleRN - Med Surg 5 West Weekly Pay$2153.2 Shift Details ShiftDay - 12x3 - 07AM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date12/02/2024 End Date03/03/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience with general surgical patients License: Active Compact State License in good standing Certifications: CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association) Must-Have: Experience with EPIC charting (highly preferred) Job Description: - Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process- Act as a patient advocate and provide support, information, and direct care- Utilize equipment and technology skillfully; be technically competent in nursing procedures- Educate patients and families on significant self-care issues- Demonstrate organizational ability by using time and equipment effectively- Work under pressure in time-sensitive and often stressful situations- Communicate skillfully and accurately, both written and orally- Work with patients and families in crisis or with emotional/mental alterations - Handle personnel problems with immediate action when necessary- Communicate courteously and accurately with patients, families, physicians, visitors, and healthcare team members- Assist with medical-surgical and post-surgical patients, including bariatric and vascular patients- Handle special procedures and requirements; assist patients with epidurals for pain management, abdominal cases, and some 23-hour patients/outpatients- Work with wound vacs, EPI s, IV pumps, tube feeding, sequential stocking machines, medication administration, and patient documentation systems- Participate in cost containment efforts- Work within a 48-bed floor, average stay per patient is 4.5 daysComments: Orientation occurs every other week for new RNs. Guaranteed hours will not apply during the orientation period. Shifts have some flexibility, which is negotiated during the interview. Efforts are made to maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
