MITRE's N211 Army Mission Command Networks department is currently seeking a Project Leader (PL) to lead the Program Executive Office (PEO) Command, Control, Communications, and Network (C3N) (P3CN) Integrated Enterprise Network (IEN) project, which is responsible for the acquisition, fielding, and transition of the Army network infrastructure (voice, video, and data). This position is an exciting role to modernize the Army’s information technology to enable Soldiers to successfully operate and exchange critical data across wide area and local area networks globally with extensions to contested and distributed environments while providing resiliency and security.
Task and initiatives will focus on delivering wireless, wired, software defined networking, voice, and video capabilities that are seamless to the Soldier. This project is of strategic value within the Army Program and includes working closely with Army’s technology leaders and technology developers across the Army and DoD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor (thought leader and trust broker) to the sponsor in shaping work to ensure MITRE products are relevant to the sponsor and have high impact.
Drive forward new and emerging network and cyber capabilities important to our users.
Lead a team of network and voice subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver products on schedule in accordance with the MITRE good growth strategy.
Recommend architecture concepts and/or technology offerings that enhance the sponsor capabilities while being affordable and implementable in an expedited manner.
Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in networking and voice technologies and standards.
Lead and direct technical assessments of various communications and networking components to inform systems design decisions.
Provide a communications bridge between the Department and Division leadership and the project SMEs.
Support agile engineering efforts that incorporate stakeholder feedback early in the process and focus on rapid and incremental delivery of capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
BS in engineering, computer science or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of networking and voice protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SIP/SIPConnect, SRTP, VPN and VLAN.
Experience with network and voice design and implementation, including switching, routers, firewalls/SBCs, session controllers, and load balancers.
Experience with network security protocols and best practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management
Ability to conduct technical trade studies, collect and analyze data, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Ability to conduct advanced programming with a strong understanding of best practices on networking technologies
Excellent communications and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers.
Secret Clearance is required.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Army tactical and enterprise network and voice systems, integration challenges and next generation command and control goals
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Familiarity with MITRE business practices
