Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The mechanical assembler will use blueprints, schematics, and various tools to build and assemble large pumps for firetrucks. The role involves documenting defective products, using hand and power tools, presses, cranes, hoists, and testing instruments.
Responsibilities
Use blueprints and schematics to assemble large pumps.
Document defective products on logs and route to the proper location.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, presses, assembly and test fixtures, measuring and testing instruments, hand trucks, cranes, and hoists.
Interpret prints and work instructions for product builds.
Assemble products to quality standards with little to no assistance.
Perform panel assembly as required.
Maintain a safe and tidy work environment consistent with 6S.
Identify and help resolve quality issues.
Communicate production issues in a timely manner.
Report maintenance and equipment issues.
Perform basic assembly, fitting, and wiring to build a range of sub-assemblies and finished products.
Repair and troubleshoot as required.
Install and align components using mechanical judgment.
Read and understand torque values and procedures.
Report supply needs to maintain required levels.
Install components and inspect products for proper clearance and alignment.
Transport products and other equipment to designated work areas.
Clean and make minor repairs to assembly equipment.
