Job Summary :The School Treasurer is responsible for managing the financial operations of the school, including overseeing budgets, accounting, and financial records, and ensuring compliance with district and state policies. This position plays a key role in supporting the school's financial integrity and operations by tracking all financial transactions, preparing reports, and collaborating with school administration.
Key Responsibilities :Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the school.Oversee and manage the school's budget, ensuring funds are allocated and spent in accordance with district policies.Prepare and submit regular financial reports to the school principal, district office, and other stakeholders.Monitor cash flow, manage school accounts, and reconcile bank statements.Ensure compliance with all state and local financial regulations and policies.Assist in the preparation for audits, providing necessary documentation and information.Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely manner.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents regarding fundraising and school-related financial matters.Coordinate and maintain accurate records of all school-related fundraising events and activities.Support the school's financial planning efforts by analyzing data and making recommendations for cost-effective financial strategies.Process payroll for all school staff, ensuring timely and accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations.Verify timekeeping and attendance records, ensuring that payroll data is accurate and aligned with contractual obligations.Prepare payroll-related reports, as assigned by the District Finance officeQualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or a similar role is preferred.Strong knowledge of financial software, spreadsheets, and basic accounting principles.Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.Working Conditions :
Full-time, Monday through Friday during school hours.Occasional evening or weekend work for school events or reporting deadlines.Compensation :Salary commensurate with experience, in accordance with the district's salary schedule.
Terms of Employment:
Twelve month work year/At Will/FLSA Non-Exempt
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the MicrosoftOffice Professional software programs.Considerable knowledge of accounting practices.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability tocommunicate with school personnel, employees, and central office staff whilecomplying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies andstatutes.Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.Strong organizational skills.Ability to interact and deal with the public in a professional manner.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by workassignments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
