We are looking for a SR Marine Claims Adjuster, this hybrid role will be based in our O'Fallon, MO office.
The Impact You Will Have
The Sr Marine Claims Adjuster will handle Marine Claims, with end-to-end responsibility. The SR Marine Claims Adjuster will proactively investigate, evaluate and negotiate resolution of assigned Marine claims in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:Claims Processing and AdministrationInput and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AzC Claims administration systems.Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g., monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.Investigate standard claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures.Determine appropriate reserving levels.Referral and compliance, ensuring all claims are handled with authority limits, and in line with AzC claims standards, procedures and guidelines.Positively represent AzC externally to the market. Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process (e.g., underwriting, MMC, ARC, operations).Develop and maintain strong relationship with key brokers and clients and other relative stakeholders (e.g., third party adjusters).Effectively report and present loss and claims information internally and externally.What You'll Bring to the Role:
College degree preferred.3-5 years' experience of proven track record in handling marine claims involving noncomplex coverage and damage issues.3-5 years' experience in detailed understanding of claims handling process1-3 years' experience in demonstrating established relationships with brokers at peer level group and well established in local market.1-3 years' experience understanding of legal and regulatory framework.1-3 years' experience working in complex, global matrix organization.Products and Coverages: understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.Claims Handling: knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and applicationLitigation: Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g., mediation)
The annual base salary range base pay range for this role is $74,455 to $123,055. The annualized represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
