OverviewResponsible for management of Clinical Engineering operations across assigned D-H sites.
Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the implementation of the Medical Equipment Management Program as outlined by the Joint Commission, CMS and organizational policy. This includes the maintenance of equipment inventory, and application of PM procedures and schedules. Participates in medical equipment clinical trials, technology assessment and equipment selection. Works with the Director to assure regulatory compliance.Works with leadership to identify and implement strategic opportunities and plans in support of the organizational mission, vision, values and long range objectives.Responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations of assigned site(s).Establishes objectives and performance standards for individuals and the functional business unit. Monitors and communicates progress on these goals.Provides oversight and direction to the employees in the functional business unit in accordance with policies and procedures.Coaches, mentors and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and guidance.Oversees and facilitates adherence to the goal planning, performance feedback, and appraisal process.Provides operational consultation and support for clinical engineering services including equipment lifecycle management, technology evaluation, risk assessment, and project management.Supports Clinical Engineering staff by providing operational consultation and support for Risk Management, Medical Equipment hazard recalls, incident investigations, and medical device reporting.Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in appropriate Engineering or Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) field required.Six (6) years of applicable Biomedical/Clinical Engineering, or HTM experience required.Prior medical device management experience required.Must have communication and presentation skills.Familiarity with regulatory requirements preferred.Must possess the ability to interact with others at all levels.Required Licensure/Certifications
- Certification in Healthcare Technology Management required within two (2) years of hire.
