Overview

EagleView, the leader in aerial imagery, is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplined Flight Systems Engineering team. In this role you will participate in all aspects of the technology development life cycle: scoping, design, coding, testing, implementation and support. You will be able to take pride and ownership in your work as well as in the overall contributions of your team, with the ability to see the immediate impact of those contributions on the business and its Operations team.

Flight Systems Engineering is a multi-disciplined development team consisting of software, electrical, mechanical, imagery and optical engineers. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining EagleView's image capture systems. This includes real-time airborne control and communications systems, high resolution multi-spectral camera system design, optical and environmental calibration systems and automated image quality assessment, just to name a few. Our work includes everything from working with raw materials to delivering high resolution image capture systems.

Responsibilities

Design, architect and develop advanced software solutions in a cross functional Agile team supporting multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, including:

Collaborate on or lead development of technical design and specifications as requiredCode, test and document new applications as well as changes to existing system functionality and ensure successful completionCollaborate with product owners and/or the business on requirements definition, development of functional specifications, and designPlay a pivotal role in all aspects of development for the software used in one or more phases of camera systems developmentMentor peer and junior engineers in software designQualifications

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Image Science or a related fieldExtensive, hands-on coding experience developing imagery/optic and camera-based applications4 years professional experience; 7 years preferredStrong programming skills and ability to produce high quality code in a timely mannerAbility to work independently with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and eager to meet customer needsExcellent communication (both written and verbal), collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skillsSolid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) Development ProcessPreferred

Strong experience in C/C++ (Windows Development Studio/Linux), Python, OpenCVStrong embedded development and interfaces to hardware (e.g. camera control, Ethernet, RS-485, RS-232, digital interfaces, CoE, motion control, time synchronization)Strong mathematical skillsDatabase systems and SQL (Postgres)GISC#Web Development (JavaScript, React/Redux or similar)

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's work experience, education and licenses, work-related training, key skills, the core duties of the role and its associated responsibilities, additional benefits offered, and the location where the work will be performed. All Fulltime (30+ hours) employees are eligible for PTO, Sick, and Parental Leave; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; 401(k) Plan; Health Savings Account; Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program; Pet Insurance. This is a full-time, hybrid position (in our Rochester NY headquarters) with a base compensation of $118,000 - $145,000, bonus eligible.
