JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, using extensive reporting via Excel. This role involves analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses, and reporting the organization's finances to management. The Staff Accountant offers suggestions on resource utilization, process improvement, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial reporting, proficiency in Excel, an analytical mindset, and experience in manufacturing accounting. This role requires precise attention to detail, adherence to established guidelines, and effective communication skills to liaise with management and other departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.Reporting via Excel, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.Report organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, process improvement and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.Perform and reconcile general ledger accounting tasks to support accurate financial reporting.Analyzes business transactions and trends.Maintains readiness to perform additional accounting functions by cross training with other accounting department team members.Assist with inventory management and reduction initiatives.Process month end closing of inventory, fixed asset, AR & AP modules.Day-to-day functions as needed by Finance.*Safe Fleet does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, ancestry veteran status or any other status protected by law.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in a general accounting role for a manufacturing businessBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related studies from an accredited UniversityAdvanced Excel skills, particularly in Pivot, V-Lookup reportingPast experience with ERP systemStrong analytical thinking abilitiesGood verbal and written communication skillsKeen eye for detail and desire to probe deeper into dataDeadline oriented and ability to stick to time restraintsComfortable working in a dynamic environment
