Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Analyze project budgets, expenditures, and variances to identify anomalies and ensure adherence to financial objectives. • Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to develop accurate project cost estimates and forecasts. • Monitor project spending patterns and provide regular reports on cost performance to stakeholders. • Review and validate project invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Prepare accruals as necessary. • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including project budget reports, cost variance reports, and financial forecasts. • Develop and maintain project cost control tools and templates to streamline processes and improve efficiency. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements related to project cost management. • Track and document change orders and update financials if necessary • Prepares award memos and change orders memos to authorize additional contract funding when required. • Other project responsibilities as necessary including assisting in project management activities

Skills

• Project management experience preferred. • Proven experience as a cost analyst, financial analyst, or similar role. • Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, cost control methodologies, and project management principles. • Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. • Ability to interpret and present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience. • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Certified Project Management Professional) are desirable but not required.
