POSITION SUMMARY
The Systems Administrator will join a high-performing, multi-disciplined IT team and serve as a systems subject matter expert responsible for the continuity of the corporate systems, including the cloud and on premise infrastructure and all associated cabling and connections. You will work with outside vendors and providers to guarantee connectivity between corporate locations. You will also maintain, upgrade, and deploy server, network, and endpoint devices. Other tasks include monitoring and optimizing system performance, continuously elevating identity management, perimeter and endpoint security, proactively identifying and implementing preventive measures, and responding to helpdesk tickets.
As a Systems Administrator, you will support a culture of exceeding internal and external customer expectations through teamwork, communication, and collaborative decision-making.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESSystems Administration
Provision Users and manage accessConfigure and deploy PCs and other devices meeting security and connectivity standardsPerform Windows updates on ServersManage Microsoft Hyper-V servers and Virtual Machines as neededMaintain and support endpoint devices (desktop, server, printer, scanner, mobile, etc.)Manage and audit hardware and software inventorySupport Business application softwareManage barcode printing software, upgrades, and new printer configurationsAdminister Antivirus software, including email spam and virus filtersManage backup software to ensure all servers and cloud data is backed up and backups are periodically tested.Perform various configuration and troubleshooting tasks in the phone system, such as assigning extension numbers, DID numbers, extension changes, and voicemail-related issuesManage UPS (uninterruptible power supply) functionality and battery replacementTroubleshoot and resolve client and server issuesCreate and maintain accurate documentation, including technical designs, architecture, procedures, and work instructions
Network Administration
Monitor and maintain the network infrastructure and performance directly and with 3rd party assistance as neededFirewall and VPN configuration and monitoringVLAN/SDWAN Network design - subnet designWi-Fi Access Point management

Identify and mitigate infrastructure-related problems proactivelyFailover monitoringServer and Data Storage monitoringAccess Control & Intrusion monitoring
End User Support
Provide end user support using Thruway help desk ticketing systemWork with end users to implement solutions and resolve issues involving hardware, software, and network technologiesFollow best practices for projects and network designInteract with external vendors and customer partnerships

At least 3 years of information technology work experience in IT systems administration or network administrationExperience with on premise Microsoft Windows Server and virtual machine administration, Active Directory and security standards, configuring and deploying workstations, providing technical software support, installing and maintaining hardware, networking equipment (firewalls, switches, access points, WAN, and VPN), and telecommunications hardware and softwarePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, similar degree, or equivalent work experienceCertification in one or more of the following: information security, networking, systems administration, or CompTIA Network+Experience with Azure Cloud Infrastructure, including virtual machine administration, networking, Entra Identity Management and security standards, and M365 toolsWORK ENVIRONMENT
Work independently and in teams, under demanding and rewarding conditions with concurrent and sometimes competing priorities. Must be able to work with employees at all levels of the companyWork on projects as either a project lead or project assistant. Simultaneously lead projects while supporting othersAvailable to occasionally work after hours and weekends (off production hours) and as necessary to complete tasks that require exclusive access or system downtimeBe comfortable sitting 80% of the time, standing and moving 20% of the time and occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 poundsOn-site/In-Person

The majority of the time will be spent in the office and traveling between Branch offices. Travel between a branch and customer location is required occasionally by car and occasionally by plane for longer overnight trips.
