Job Description:
The Director, Strategic Logistics position will be onsite based out of Fremont, USA. This person will partner with the operations and sales team to develop and deploy logistics strategies to meet significant and sustainable global growth targets.
Job Description:Develop strategy for all freight-related elements for the business including costs, quality, capacity, operations, etc.Lead freight contracts, cost, and capacity negotiations for all logistics-related services with NVOCCs and VOCCs, including ocean & air freight, land transport, warehousing, transloading, customs brokerage etc.Scouting, analyzing, onboarding, and qualifying carriers and new service providers to optimize capacity & cost to diversify the supply chain at large.Sending Requests for Proposals (RFP) and prioritizing sourcing efforts to target local market needs and align with global logistics strategies.Lead contract negotiations and contract review for existing and new providers.Collaborate with the rest of the operations teams to devise supply strategies to optimize landed costs and meet the required delivery schedule.Collaborate with Sales and Project Managers to optimize freight costs & capacity for strategic projects and customers.Maintain relationships, conduct quarterly business reviews, and ensure active measurement of performance for all service providers.Independently manage escalations from the operations team by analyzing root causes, mitigating risks, and ensuring resolution.Develop and implement logistics-related processes to improve overall supply chain efficiency as the need arises.Keep abreast of pertinent regulations and respond accordingly to update all departments that are affected by the changes.Foster a results-driven yet collaborative team culture by balancing a sense of urgency with the ability to de-escalate and reassure during high-stakes situations.Required Qualification & Experience:
15+ years of experience in all modes of transportation with strong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing structure (ocean, rail, truck, air, and customs brokerage), with a primary focus on the North America market.Global experience in regions such as the Middle East, India, Australia, LATAM, and Europe is a strong advantage.Must be a skilled negotiator, highly analytical, creative, and an effective communicator with the ability to diffuse escalations independently and maintain a calming effect on teams during high-pressure situations.Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and a strong sense of urgency while balancing the ability to reassure and motivate teams.Proven ability to standardize processes, implement best practices, and establish a framework for continuous improvement within a global logistics environment.High degree of autonomy, leadership, and accountability for results, with experience in managing cross-functional teams and budgets exceeding $300M globally.Willingness to travel (25%) to Asia, EU, and LATAM.Preferred Qualification & Experience:
Besides North America, preferred if has experience managing logistics globally across multiple regions, including Europe, MEAP (Middle East, Asia Pacific), Australia, and LATAM.Expertise with freight forwarders and carriers, including ocean freight strategy and execution.Familiarity with tools such as Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or similar logistics software; technical savviness and strong Excel skills for quick analysis.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with sales and operations teams to align forward-looking cost structures and optimize logistics strategies for competitive markets.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $170,000 - $215,000.
