Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the credit union in living out our Bold Promise,
"H-E-B Federal Credit Union Partners taking a stand together to be the financial institution of choice."
The Director of Analytics and Business Insights reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for providing analytical support and insights enabling business capability and driving business value. The Director of Analytics and Business Insights supports internal business units through performing the collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting of data; forecasts; report development; trending analysis; product roadmap implementation; product performance reviews; and other similar activities. This role comprehensively supports the analytical needs of the credit union functioning as and/or leading a team of data analysts, business analysts, operations analysts, project analysts and research analysts.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, risk management or a similar field with Master's degree in analytics or a similar field preferred.
Three to five years of financial institution experience required. Experience with deposits, loans and digital banking preferred.
Five years of analytical work experience required. Strong analytical skills with the ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex analytical questions.
Requires the ability to manage process discovery, process modeling and process improvement activities.
Must possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Windows operating systems along with advanced skills to access and navigate the Internet and Intranet.
Requires three to five years of experience preparing and presenting regular reports and presentations to senior management, summarizing key findings, performance metrics and actionable insights.
Requires advanced knowledge of report automation.
Experience with SQL, R, Python, SAS, data visualization software and machine learning preferred.
Must have the ability to work independently and initiate changes to improve operating results.
Three years of leadership skills are preferred including the ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnership with all levels of team members.
Must have stamina to maintain long workdays as required.

Support internal business partners by performing analysis, report development, report automation, trending analysis, product roadmap implementation, forecasts, etc.
Collect, aggregate, analyze and report data and insights on product, sales and performance strategies and provide recommendations based on analysis of profitability, competitiveness and performance.
Develop, automate, and implement dashboards, reporting and data models that enable relevant personalized service.
Collect and synthesize Voice of Member feedback; prepare meaningful and actionable insights.
Collaborate with internal departments to champion solutions that drive and improve the member experience.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), member insights and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and use data to improve member experiences.
Deliver quantitative and qualitative insights for all channels of member communication (chats, calls, texts, emails, etc).
Analyze processes within the organization and document business requirements, processes and systems providing insight into the holistic business model and the integration with technology. Identify and present areas of opportunity for improvement. Monitor changes to ensure improvement over time.
Assist project teams and project managers to plan, organize and execute projects in an effective manner by providing critical data support. Provide support in project evaluation and scoping through the preparation and review of cost schedules, budgets, forecasts, performance analysis, etc.
Support and advise the Executive Team on new capabilities and industry trends through research and analysis of business data, industry best practices and competitive information.
Deliver effective and engaging reports and presentations to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operation Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and other Executive Team members.
Prepare and present results of analysis and/or recommendations to Executive Team members, business partners, and at times external parties. Communicate action plans and priorities to appropriate Partners. Summarize key findings, performance metrics and actionable insights.
Maintain a strong sense of urgency.
Facilitate vendor relationships with third party analytic resources.
Recruit, interview, hire and manage professional-level staff (as needed).
Set measurable standards of performance and motivate Partners to achieve desired results and keep Partners informed of changes.
Schedule Partner meetings to review performance, set goals, and develop plans to improve Partner performance.
Keep Partners informed of all credit union activities and promotions.
Develop each Partner to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coach, train and/or correct Partner performance.
Hold Partners accountable for performance, attitude, and behavior and recognize those who perform at a high level.
Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work policies and procedures.
