Position Overview

The

Manager of Academic Systems

is a vital role responsible for overseeing and managing academic data systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across schools. This position works collaboratively with academic operations teams, providing training, troubleshooting, and strategic support for systems such as PowerSchool, BeLA, and Master Scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

PowerSchool Administration Schedule syncs between systems. Troubleshoot data and grade discrepancies. Manage historical grade storage and transcript corrections. Oversee new school year setup and end-of-year processing. Configure new schools and manage user access. Extract data and generate ad-hoc queries for reporting purposes. Support gradebook troubleshooting and database audits for compliance and data quality. B.Schedule & B.Students Administration

Manage schedule syncs and school configuration setup. Handle user management and troubleshoot student record data issues. BeLA Administration

Configure school settings and courses. Manage bell schedule setup and entry. Master Scheduling

Oversee school master schedule creation, including project management for new schools. Training and Development

Provide training for new Curriculum Coordinators, DAPs, and Registrars. Conduct training sessions during Summer Institute and for periodic continuing education workshops. Facilitate software release training for users. Special Projects

Manage SIS (Student Information System) department workload and personnel. Create and update systems manuals and training tools. Evaluate, create, and revise school processes. Collaborate with Academic Operations teams and leaders on special projects. Online Teaching Platform (OTP) Support

Manage user accounts and permissions. Oversee course creation and course administrator assignments. Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Systems, or a related field (required). Minimum of 2-3 years of experience managing academic systems, such as PowerSchool or similar SIS platforms. Previous experience in school scheduling and data management. Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency with PowerSchool and other academic system platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting data and system issues. Ability to manage and analyze large datasets for compliance and reporting. Knowledge of academic operations, compliance requirements, and school processes. Excellent training and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff. Other Requirements

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work across departments. Adaptability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Benefits and Salary:
