Responsibilities
This position works with the units inside of Network Communications Technologies to develop and optimize services throughout their product lifecycle and with customers to match our offerings to their needs. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all vendor and contract relationships for network and telecommunications services across the whole University to include all remote and international campus locations. Requires a thorough understanding of network and telecommunications technology as well as legal and compliance frameworks governing those areas at the local, state, and national levels. Works with NCT and IT partners in all areas to establish service level agreements on negotiated services as well as help develop pricing models for internal usage.
Coordinates and administers contracts for NCT telecommunications services, including facilitation between vendors and various FSU entities such as Office of General Council, Facilities, IT Security, IT Partners, and other infrastructure to include voice services, networking services, communications cabling, Outside Plant and campus-wide frequency coordination.
Provides technical direction and framework in developing policies and procedures as related to departmental workflow and the support of campus Information Technology infrastructure to include voice services, networking services, communications cabling, Outside Plant and campus-wide frequency coordination
Coordination of various units inside and outside of NCT to develop service models, pricing inputs and service delivery models for new projects and services that address the University's overall network requirements. Assist with the roll-outs of the services until hand-offs to operational groups can be made.
Plans and prepares budgetary proposals for IT infrastructure upgrades and initiatives. Performs Category 1 requisition approvals for university networking and telecommunications purchases. Participates in IT assessment teams to assist units with IT decisions. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience. (Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
