Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $23
(Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application) This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Cultural and Natural Resources. This position is located at 2110 Blue Ridge Road. Raleigh, NC.
The temporary Graphic Designer works with the Exhibition Design and the Environmental Graphics Specialist to design, produce, and install the NC Museum of Art's permanent gallery signage system, exhibition signage, art labels, text panels, and visitor wayfinding signage. Position develops signage aligning with the established vision and outcomes of exhibitions and the NCMA, using existing environments and artful communication to convey a cogent message to NCMA visitors. Position may work from signage lists or work orders and works independently but in adherence to established interpretive standards and/or branding guidelines. Position will also work with the Publications Department to design print and digital materials such as flyers, brochures, educational activities, campus signage, and digital graphics.

NOTE: "See Resume" is not acceptable to show work history. -Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of contemporary graphic design techniques, typography, digital imagery manipulation, and the full use of Adobe Creative Suite is required. -Applicants should also have an understanding of architectural/exhibit design and interpretive processes to be able to collaborate with designers, educators, and curators on complex exhibit environments. -A thorough knowledge of contemporary digital printing processes, both large and small scale, is also necessary. -Experience with large scale printers, vinyl cutters, and graphics installations is a plus. -Project management skills and the ability to manage workflow, including timelines and deadlines of multiple and varying projects are also required. -Prefer a college degree in graphic design or fine art with an emphasis on typography. Previous graphic design experience in museums, art galleries, and/or commercial/marketing graphics is preferred. Portfolio work samples are required. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
