Status: Exempt
I. Summary:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective management of a full-service branch office, while ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed, and delegating the day-to-day operations to branch personnel. Responsible for making business development calls and representing the Bank at civic and service club functions.
II. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:Trains, schedules, and assigns work, establishes performance goals, reviews job performance, and makes authoritative decisions with regard to hiring, salary, discipline, and discharge of branch personnel. Conducts regular meetings to keep staff informed and resolve problems.Ensures that the branch is open to operate each business day. Delegates various operational duties to branch personnel, and assumes the overall responsibility for all aspects of operating the branch.Aggressively implements the Bank's mission to provide a superior level of customer service within the branch, and acts as liaison between the corporate office and branch personnel by communicating all pertinent information accordingly (i.e., policies, mandates, procedures).Regularly reviews and/or takes applications for mortgages, consumer and commercial loans, explaining the different financing options and programs available. Preliminarily "qualifies" the applicant according to established minimum criterion. Conducts site visits to commercial businesses to ensure that Compliance and Security requirements are met.Makes regular business development calls to solicit new business or service to existing clients. Joins area service clubs and organizations, and represents the Bank at functions and meetings.Ensures that the branch balances all transactions at the close of each business day. Helps tellers and others to resolve balancing problems and authorizes over/short adjustments. Conducts audits as necessary to verify accuracy of teller balances and collects "returned" checks taken at the branch and overdrafts from ATM transactions.Responsible for the general maintenance of the branch and ensures that the exterior is clear of any debris, ice or snow for the safety and security of customers and employees. Ensures that all security procedures are adhered to.Assures that the automated teller machines are serviced, operational and balanced each day.Performs other duties as assigned.III. Skills and Abilities Required:
A thorough knowledge of branch banking operations to coordinate the daily functioning of the branch and to resolve employee and customer issues.Complete familiarity with the bank's savings, checking, lending products and services, policies and guidelines, as well as specific loan programs, qualifications, insurance, and to provide full savings and loan services.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to achieve successful business development calls.Knowledge and experience working with a 30 year fixed mortgage product strongly preferred.IV. Minimum Requirements:
Must be a registered MLO; College degree preferred.Five years of progressively responsible experience within a financial organization to gain the necessary experience and background knowledge to manage a full-service branch and deal effectively with employee and customer relations matters.
