www.lgenergymi.comLGES is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join its North America Business Division that provides support services to all sales/manufacturing subsidiaries and joint ventures in the North America Region.Summary:This role is responsible for providing legal advice, drafting legal documents, resolving legal disputes, managing compliance system. Legal Counsel will work closely with the business teams to ensure that all legal matters are handled in a timely, efficient and appropriate manner. This individual will report to the Head of Legal/Compliance of North America Region.Responsibilities:Advise and counsel in a variety of legal and compliance topics.Provide legal and compliance training to everyone in the organization.Review company policies and practices on a regular basis to ensure that all are in compliance.Provide oversight, direction and maintenance of compliance program.Conduct risk assessments and general reports for compliance meetingsPrepare for the possibility of audits and investigations by developing strategies, maintaining records and designing procedures.Preparing, reviewing and negotiating company contracts and other legal documentsGenerate accurate work product quickly as requested.Manage outside counsel relationships, as neededPerform other duties as assignedRegular and reliable on-site attendance is required.Qualifications:Law degree from an accredited law school or equivalent, relevant experienceLicensed to practice law in the state of Michigan preferred but not requiredExperience with and exposure to corporate compliance, labor & employment issues, and safety & environmental issuesComprehensive knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.Excellent analytical, communication, research and writing skills.High degree of professional ethics and integrityExcellent business and legal judgment, as well as a superior ability to assess risk and determine priorities based on that risk assessment and the needs of the businessEffectively organize and manage independent caseloads presenting multiple simultaneous priorities.Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate legal issues in a clear and understandable manner. Inspires trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills.Experience:At least 3+ years of Legal experienceLaw firm or global in-house counsel legal department work experience preferred
