Summary
NYC mid-sized law firm is seeking a HR Specialist/Generalist who will manage the recruitment and onboarding process for non-legal staff including role postings and working with agencies, screening resumes, conducting and scheduling interviews, generating offer letters, and completing reference and background checks. The individual will manage the HR database, create new hire profiles, input payroll, and process changes. They will create and manage full-day orientation schedules for new hires and conduct first-day orientation. Additionally, they will generate salary and headcount reports for senior management review using HRIS and Excel.Responsibilities include assisting in payroll updates and changes for all non-partner employees on a semi-monthly basis and ensuring all pay changes are accurate. The HR Specialist will work as a backup to the payroll specialist as needed. They will manage performance review processes for non-legal staff by creating evaluation forms and assigning them to appropriate employees and managers. The role also involves preparing and maintaining the HR budget, managing HR-related reporting such as salary and wages, EEO-1, RFPs, diversity surveys, and turnover statistics using Paycom, as well as managing expense requests, unemployment claims, and employment verification forms and letters. Participation in exit interviews for voluntary resignations is also required. This role is in person 5 days to start, moving to 3 days in person once fully up to speed.Qualifications
Completed BA/BS degree is required. 3 plus years of HR experience, preferably in a professional services environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail. Experience with HRIS programs, Paycom experience is a plus. Extensive knowledge and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
