Job Announcement:The City of Webster Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of EMS Battalion Chief. Webster is located on the south side of Houston, Texas with a population of approximately 12,000 permanent residents. While this number may seem small, our community has a daily influx of people who work and shop in our city, which brings our daily population up to 150,000.

The EMS Battalion Chief ensures the protection of the personal life and property of the City's citizens and employees. This is accomplished by supervising, coordinating and monitoring daily EMS activities and performance. Maintains all Texas Department of Health license and other regulatory requirements. Oversees EMS billing for ambulance services and maintains medical supplies and equipment levels. Responsible for orientation and training for EMS personnel. Implements and oversees quality improvement program for field operations and makes recommendations on improving our EMS service short and long term. Recommends and implements new policies and guidelines, monitors the department's budget and expenditures. Other duties include maintaining EMS staffing levels and ordering medical supplies and maintaining inventories.

Minimum Qualifications:A valid Texas Class C Driver's LicenseMinimum three (3) to five (5) years of Management or Director experienceMinimum of five (5) years' experience as paramedic level provider in a diverse ALS systemAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Life Support (CPR)ICS completion of NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800Instructor 1 or EMS Instructor or equivalentPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)Texas Department of Health Services (TDHS)- Paramedic or Licensed ParamedicPreferred: Bachelor's Degree or Advanced degree from a four-year college or university

Special Requirements:This is an Essential Services position, and the employee will be required to provide services in the course and scope of employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Webster's citizens per the City's Emergency Services Guidelines.
