Rome, NYAFRL is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Quantum Machine Learning Research and Development Scientist.
DO-02: $73,484 - $115,388This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions until 24 November.NOTE: Must use MM/DD/YYYY date format for experience on resume.The Quantum Sciences Information and Technology Branch is looking to expand its algorithm R&D by establishing a Quantum Machine Learning (QML) project thrust and requires an experienced computer scientist to lead the effort.Position duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for overseeing quantum machine learning algorithm research and development.Encode given classical data sets into a quantum computer to make it accessible for quantum information processing.Explore how to devise and implement quantum software that could enable machine learning that is faster than that of classical computers.Investigate the considerable hardware and software challenges that exist and create solutions to fully implement quantum algorithms building blocks into machine learning programs.Develop and maintain collaborations within and outside of AFRL.Travel is a requirement for the accomplishment of assigned duties.Telework

Ability to obtain and maintain required Top Secret/SCI security clearance.Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level III Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technology Management (ETM). The selectee will have 24-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications and status as an acquisition corps member in their resume.Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.1 year of specialized experience equal to the DR-I, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is experience directly related to the position that was performed at a level equivalent to the grade directly below the position.Desired Qualifications
