Position OverviewThis position is responsible for providing capital engineering support to successfully implement capital projects on time and on budget in order to assist operations and maintenance in achieving safety, environmental, quality and productivity goals at the Hamilton Pigment Facility. This position will also contribute to the "Plant Electrical Team" with a slight overlap with AI.Responsibilities include independent handling of major capital projects. Incumbent may also direct activities of others when assistance is required. Commit to employee safety and environmental responsibility, and execute projects in compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental Policy.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Workingwith minimal supervision to develop and implement project plans that are in line with organizational plans to ensure the plant runs at optimal capacity so that organization strategies are achievedEnsuringprojects are managed from proposal to commissioning by developing specifications, expenditure justifications, establishing performance milestones, monitoring and correction mechanisms so that project objectives are metOrganizingand executes the project into stages (scope, schedule, costs, functionality, construction) to allow disciplined control of all project risksSubmittingprojects for gate approval with all required informationEnsuringall relevant engineering/regulatory standards are adhered toManagingand participatingin the design, planning, construction, supervision and commissioning of approved plant upgrades and modificationsCoordinatingand managinginternal/contract labor in the execution of project activitiesEnsuringDesign Change Approvals (DCA’s) for capital projects are completedUp to 15% of time providing electrical supportMonitor construction activities for compliance to site safety policiesConsistently applies Outward Mindset Principles and ToolsPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerOccasional standing for extended periods and walking long distances between work areasOccasional ascending/descending stairs and working in outdoorsweather conditionsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs at timesQualificationsThisposition requires a degree in Mechanical
