Queens Childcare Network (QCCN)

team.In this role, the Education Specialist will play a pivotal role in fostering strengths-based, collaborative relationships with licensed in-home childcare providers. The primary focus will be on coaching and supporting family and group family daycare providers to implement play-based, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the Department of Education (DOE) curriculum.This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood education by empowering providers to create high-quality learning environments that nurture children’s growth and school readiness.Areas of Responsibility

Work collaboratively with a team to support over 45 affiliated in-home childcare providers serving 500+ children, from infants to children up to age 12.Assist in the launch and implementation of the NYC DOE EarlyLearn and 3K Programs.Provide bi-monthly, strengths-based coaching to up to 17 affiliated providers, focusing on the effective delivery of mixed-age curriculum.Offer guidance on adapting evidence-based curriculum to meet the diverse developmental needs of children in a mixed-age setting.Collaborate with the Education Director, Family Support Workers, and Health Monitors to ensure holistic support for children and families.Assist providers in observing child development, documenting progress, and using assessment data for curriculum and lesson planning.Document all coaching sessions in alignment with the DOE’s Early Childhood Framework for Quality (EFQ).Support outreach, enrollment, and other administrative tasks as needed.Facilitate professional development sessions and coordinate learning days throughout the year.Maintain relationships with community partners offering mental health, special needs, and other supportive services.Attend weekly team meetings and NYC DOE training sessions.Perform other duties as assigned by the Education or Network Director.Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Infant/Toddler Education (Master’s degree preferred); Degrees in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services also considered.Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and Zoom.Experience working with children under the age of 5 (required).Ability to work effectively from home or other remote locations with reliable internet, privacy, and access to agency communication tools.Ability to travel within the Queens area to conduct on-site coaching at in-home daycare facilities.Strong time-management, multitasking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.Cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds of QCCN providers and families.Experience working in family or group family childcare settings (preferred).Queens Community House offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insuranceFlexible spending accountsUp to 27 days of paid leave (17 days in the first year), 12 sick days, and most federal holidays
