Apply locations New York City time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id R0002706The Director of Regional HR & Employee Relations - Americas leads the People agenda across the region, providing strategic guidance on employee relations, compliance, policy, and HR strategy across multiple jurisdictions. Partnering with senior leadership, People Business Partners, and COEs, this role drives an HR strategy that aligns with business goals and supports employees.Key responsibilities include:Ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
Advising leadership on complex employee relations, organizational change, and legal matters.
Leading and mentoring HR professionals to align with business objectives.
Shaping the employee experience to foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Employee Relations (ER) LeadershipDevelop and lead ER strategies aligned with company values and objectives.
Oversee and lead investigations into grievances, harassment, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
Advise leaders on complex ER issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and union matters.
Provide guidance during organizational changes (e.g., restructures, mergers) to address ER considerations.
Manage leave programs and accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
Compliance ManagementEnsure People policies comply with local, state, federal, and international labor laws across the Americas.
Partner with the legal team to address non-compliance, mitigate risks, and resolve legal disputes.
Develop and maintain up-to-date policies reflecting the evolving legal landscape.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure HR teams and business leaders are informed and trained on compliance.
People Policy Development & ImplementationLead the development and rollout of standardized HR processes, ensuring consistency across the Americas.
Establish and maintain best practices aligned with company goals to enhance the employee experience.
Continuously evaluate and improve HR processes for greater efficiency, fairness, and satisfaction.
Manager and Employee Coaching & SupportMentor and develop HR professionals in employee relations and compliance.
Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR issues, ensuring support in complex situations.
Collaborate with business leaders to implement engagement initiatives that enhance retention and job satisfaction.
Leave & Accommodation ManagementOversee all aspects of employee leave programs across the Americas, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
Manage accommodation requests in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Serve as the point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on leave processes.
Immigration ManagementOversee all employee immigration processes, including visa sponsorship, renewals, and permanent residency applications.
Collaborate with external immigration attorneys to ensure compliance and timely processing.
Develop and maintain immigration policies to align with local and global requirements.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Law, or related field (Master’s or HR certifications preferred).
10+ years of HR experience, with 3+ years in leadership roles across multiple regions.
Strong knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and Latin American labor laws.
Expertise in employee relations, compliance, and HR operations in a multinational environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday preferred), and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
