TYLin's Americas Aviation Sector is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Central US Area. This position will be based in Chicago but will require travel to other offices from time to time.Responsibilities & Qualifications
This is a key position, supporting the Sector Leader and requires a proven seller/doer and top performer who is well established in the Central US and Chicago marketplace to provide leadership, hire and develop in a growth-oriented environment. This position requires experience in Aviation practice growth, broader team development, a sound understanding of the Aviation market and project delivery of mid-sized to large and complex Aviation projects. The individual must demonstrate leadership in the pursuit of Aviation projects and will collaborate regionally and nationally on strategic Aviation transportation pursuits and support delivery of those projects as needed. The duties include client development, proposal support, assisting with day-to-day operations of the Sector/Area with focus on performance optimization, and management of projects and project teams.Technical, Project and Quality Management:Provide project management, including interface with clients and the development of project scope, schedule and budgets on major Aviation projects.Manage the development of production work plans, schedules and budgets on major projects.Establish contract budgets and scopes of work.Support project managers and senior management as required for successful project delivery and client satisfaction.Responsible for the successful completion of projects under his/her direction.As we grow in the Area, oversee staff utilization and provide timekeeping approval.Assist with providing input for annual planning and quarterly forecasting.Collaborate regionally and internationally on Aviation pursuits.Financial Management:Ensure accurate budgeting, revenue recognition, and assist with preparation of inputs to monthly/quarterly/annual forecasts at the Sector level.Assist with preparation of sales forecasts.Business Development/Strategic Management:Collaborate with peers and colleagues in other Sectors and across the Global Infrastructure pillar, at the Area level, to provide guidance, leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction, and implement best practices within the Sector.Manage at the Area level the client management program and business development activities.Support activities required to meet Sector sales goal and assist with development of the Sector’s strategic plan. Work with Sector Managers and others to develop and maintain Sector top pursuits list.Promote the TYLin brand and build relationships with key clients and industry organizations to pursue opportunities and grow the business.Develop and maintain key client and industry relationships, promote technical practices, innovation, sharing and knowledge management.Risk Management:Participate in project performance reviews and reviews of risk and claims (w/Legal).Assist with and oversee management of risks, and legal and proposal/contract reviews and approval processes.Define commercial terms and mitigate risks during the pursuit process.Human Resources Management:Attract, develop, and retain industry technical talent to strengthen the TYLin brand and performance.Provide leadership to project managers, business developers and technical staff to ensure client, operational, technical, and project delivery excellence.Reinforce collaboration through diverse and inclusive teams that strive for technical excellence.Conduct all technical analyses and documentation review following TYLin’s quality assurance and quality control processes.Supervise and lead teams, group leaders and administrative staff and prepare coordinate annual employee performance reviews as we grow the Area.Mentor and develop technical staff.Other duties as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field.15+ years of design and project management experience within the aviation consulting industry.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Well-developed proposal and project management skills.Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.Additional Information
