Garver is seeking a highly motivated
Traffic Design Engineer
in our Austin, TX office to add to our growing traffic and transportation planning team. The ideal candidate would have 5-10 years of related experience, a sharp technical background, and strong passion for the profession. The position will offer the candidate an opportunity to play a key role in designing exciting projects for our DOT and municipal clients across our client footprint. Applicants must have excellent problem-solving skills with a commitment to playing a key role of this extremely technical, highly productive design team. This position will be supervised by a Senior Project Manager and offers outstanding growth opportunity and career advancement to the right individual.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Developing intersection improvements plansPreparing traffic signal plansPreparing ITS plansPreparing signing plans and pavement marking plansCoordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating concepts to clientsAdditional duties include:
Assisting with project management to identify project scopes, fees, and monitoring project progress.Preparing project proposals and giving interviews for project pursuitsPerforming direct client marketing and developing relationships with existing clients within our service areaMentoring less experienced staffRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree for an ABET accredited engineering program5 - 10 years of experience with traffic specific projectsProficient in MicrostationWell organized with great attention to detailExcellent communication skills with a willingness to lead meetings and presentationsLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or have ability to obtain within 6 months of hireWorking knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and FHWA Sign BookProficient in Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualifications:
